Kayla Swanson

Kayla, a native of Taconite, has always been passionate about showcasing and uplifting the numerous assets of Itasca County. Graduating from Greenway High School in 2013, she chose to extend her stay in the county, attending Itasca Community College and earning her Associates of Arts degree in 2015. Her educational journey continued at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, where she obtained a BBA while actively participating in collegiate softball. In 2018, Kayla returned home to Coleraine, establishing roots with her husband and finding immense happiness in this decision.

In 2019, Kayla embraced the role of Marketing Specialist at IEDC, a position that aligned with her skills and passion for promoting the region. After two years, she earned a well-deserved promotion to Operations & Outreach Manager in 2022. Kayla excels in organizational management, social media/marketing strategy, operational outreach, and interpersonal communication. She particularly enjoys the vibrant and professional team environment at IEDC, citing the alignment of organizational values with her own. Her time at IEDC has not only allowed professional growth but also personal development.

Outside of work, Kayla indulges in her love for fishing, hunting, and exploring Minnesota Breweries. As an Assistant Softball Coach at Itasca Community College, she actively contributes to the local sports community. Whether immersing herself in a captivating book, binge-watching a new show, or enjoying "Mama" snuggles, Kayla values her downtime. She expresses gratitude for the unwavering support of her husband, Jace, her son, Blake, her entire family, and a circle of friends who enrich her life.
