APEX is a private sector-led business development engine devoted to economic development in a 10-county area in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, including Itasca County. In addition to providing its regular business retention, attraction, and expansion efforts, APEX has a contract with IEDC to provide additional marketing services, and a member of its staff based in Itasca County helps to grow business across the western portion of APEX’s service area.
