Join us in a virtual information session this November on the imporance of internships in Itasca County! Director, Claire Peterlin speaks on behalf of Career Pathways and Itasca Community College Business & Economics Professor, Nick Rothstein presents on the internship opportunities that are available at the college level! You won't want to miss this!

Nick Rothstein is a Business & Economics Professor at Itasca Community College! Nick says "Being originally from Grand Rapids and a graduate of ICC, I feel a strong personal connection to both. After earning my undergraduate and graduate degrees in international business and economics and working in international trade for 5 years in Minneapolis, I felt a strong desire to return to Grand Rapids. I was fortunate to find a job teaching business and economics at ICC, where I could use my knowledge and experience to help prepare students for rewarding careers in business."

We're excited to announce that Nick is bringing his colleague, Lee Kessler to present as well! Lee Kessler earned a Bachelor's of Science in Forestry from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He worked for Illinois Forest Products as a Forester for four years before moving to Minnesota. He started a forestry consulting company focusing on private forest land management that was very active for almost a decade. He also began working for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as a wildland fire-fighter, leading to a position at the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center (MIFC) as a Fire Technician. While at MIFC he led several training programs and was heavily involved in Helicopter and Fixed Wing Suppression Operations. After 17 years with the MN DNR, Lee accepted a job at Itasca Community College (ICC) teaching Wildland Firefighting and Forestry classes. He is currently the ICC Natural Resources Department Chair. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting with his dog, fishing, archery, and spending time with his family.
