Highlights of the Electricity 2020 Forum

The Electricity 2020 forum was the 21 st in a series of forums held to provide the opportunity to learn and talk about issues concerning the community. All IEDC forums are open to the public.

Electricity is a basic need of local, regional and national interest. The forum was in keeping with Itasca Economic Development’s emphasis on providing the format to keep people informed on issues affecting economic development in Itasca County.

Rick Lemonds, General Manager of Lake County Power, served as forum moderator. Forum panelists were Mike Bull – Assistant Commissioner, Renewable Energy and Advanced Technologies, Minnesota Department of Commerce, Bill Grant – Associate Executive Director, The Isaak Walton League-Midwest Office, Mike Jones – Senior Research Advisor, Energy & Environmental Research Center, University of North Dakota.

LeRoy Koppendrayer, Chairman of Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, provided the keynote address.
