Action Team Meeting Minutes

IDC / Jobs 2020: 2004 Action Team Guidelines

Action Team Criteria:

  1. Does the Action Team align with or support the IDC and JODS 2020 mission and vision?
  2. Is IDC and JOBS 2020 the best sponsor?
  3. Is the focus narrow enough to have the work completed in 12 months?
  4. Are there volunteers and private sector leaders willing to actively participate on the team?
  5. Can a sponsoring organization be found for implementation?

Action Team Protocol:

  • All Action Teams will be self-directed.
  • Each Team will elect a Chair.
  • Each Team will plan the course of action to achieve their goal(s) and reach desired outcomes by year end.
  • Each Team will set their own ground rules for conducting meetings.
  • Team Chair will schedule meeting times and place and notify fellow
  • Team members via email.
  • Team Chair or a designated member will take minutes at each meeting.
  • Team Chairs will notify Lucy Flessner at lucyf@itascadv.org of meeting dates, times and place and of any new Team members.
  • Beginning April 6, 2004, Monthly Report Back meetings will be held in the IDC conference room. Team chairs (or another designated member) will attend the Report Back meeting to brief the IDC and JOBS 2020 Board members on their Team’s activities. IDC staff will take notes of the Report Back meeting and post the updates on the www.jobs2020.org website.
  • Action Team Chairs and Team members will be expected to attend the Annual Community Celebration held in January 2005 to give a report on their Team’s activities and results.

Air Service Action Team
-Establish an economically viable scheduled air service at the Grand Rapids/Itasca County Airport.

Tourism Action Team
-Implement a regional approach for Itasca region tourism marketing.

Health Care Action Team
- Create alignment and cost control in the Itasca region’s healthcare delivery system.

Broadband Action Team
- Expand the Itasca region’s broadband capacity and utilization.

Economic Development Action Team
- Improve cooperation and collaboration among economic development entities in the Itasca region.

Early Childhood Initiative Action Team
- Support the Itasca region’s Early Childhood Initiative.

Blandin Paper Action Team
- Provide support to Blandin Paper Mill to improve its chances of becoming a preferred UPM expansion site.

Grow Itasca Action Team
- Assist businesses in the Itasca region with expansion or retention issues through enhanced relationships and ongoing contacts and feedback.

Work Force Skills Action Team
- Review results of the work force skills survey and develop community action plan

Lakes Management Action Team
- Focus on collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve lake management as an essential strategy for economic prosperity in the Itasca region.
